There are plenty of ways that swingers find each other and come together for fun, but two in particular stand out: swinger conventions and swinger communes.
Several big swinger clubs and national organizations and plenty of smaller organizations as well host conventions during the year. Many will fill up an entire hotel with members and the partying – and swinging – stretches for three, four, five days – even a week with some. The outings can be pricy – factor in the cost of the hotel room with the cost of admission and parties and it adds up, but you get what you pay for…day after day of debauchery!
Swinger conventions are probably not the best place to get your first taste of swinging unless you’re very adventurous. Most attendees tend to be long-time swingers and the events are annual get-togethers of old friends and lifestyle buddies. But there are always a handful of ‘newbies’ at every convention and newcomers are always greeted warmly.
These conventions range from nothing more than a couple nights of swinger parties to full-blown events that include seminars, professional entertainment, themed parties, a convention floor full of vendors (for sex toys, lingerie, videos and more!) where more than 400 couples come to together (again, no pun intended!) to celebrate the swinging lifestyle.
Swinger communes, on the other hand, are a different idea altogether. Think 60′s free-love taken to an extreme…a group of people living and working together, all as sexual partners. The idea gained a foothold in the 1960′s and has never quite died out. This idea of group-marriage isn’t especially popular – but here and there around the world, you’ll find a commune of open swingers living together as harmonious as – well, any other group of people, I would guess!
